Construction Zone

Big day at the playground the other day.  The wood chip supply was low, so in rolled our morning activity.

William was delighted with the construction vehicles.  He's an inward kind of guy, though, and so he showed his enthusiasm by parking himself waaay far away from the action and sat contently with a big smile plastered to his face.

Little by little he made his way closer to the action.

He finally made it to the edge of the playground.  A kind, older maintenance man was spraying down the new wood chips with a hose.  And seeing how it was close to 100 degrees (yuck), he was kind enough to spray William down, too.  It was fun to see them both chuckle as William got a bit wet.  I have no idea what William's vocation will be in life, but that sweet boy has an old soul.  I won't be surprised in the slightest if his gentle demeanor carries into a vocation of serving others, whether through the Priesthood or as a husband and a father.  William, I delight at watching you each and every day as you grow and change.  You bring so much happiness into the world, even to complete strangers.  Hold on to your childlike nature forever, and you will be so successful in this life and in the next.
